What is the Subaru Love Promise?

The Subaru Love Promise is just that. A promise. It is a promise to do right by our community by partnering with nonprofit education, health, community, environment, and animal organizations - to set Subaru apart through our deeds and the deeds of our partners. To be unlike any other car company by doing what is right and good, just for the sake of doing it.

The Love Promise starts with Subaru of America

We at Subaru of America stay true to the Love Promise by partnering with a wide variety of nonprofits and charities. In addition to these partnerships, every year Subaru, our owners, and our retailers join hands in the "Share the Love" event, giving back to charities across the country. Over the past 20 years, Subaru of America has donated over 50 million dollars to causes we care about, and logged over 28,000 volunteer hours.

All of the organizations we support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of its people.

The charities' varying focuses and passions include:

Loving the environment means more than loving the great outdoors. It means working to preserve it.

Over a decade ago, Subaru became the first U.S. auto manufacturer to become zero-landfill, and now, in collaboration with the National Park Service and the National Parks Conservation Association, Subaru is leveraging that same environmental expertise to help the National Parks reach zero-landfill too.

Stivers is once again spreading Love in Atlanta  –  Charles S

Stivers is once again spreading Love in Atlanta

The Adaptive Learning Center is honored to be selected as the Hometown Charity for Stivers Decatur Subaru for the second year in a row. The funds raised through this remarkable event go directly to help support Special-Education teachers and programs which include children with special needs in preschool classrooms with their typically developing peers. While this is a direct benefit to the children with special needs, there is an even greater benefit to the whole school community. Typically developing children are learning at an early age about individuals with some differences are really just like them. They want to learn and play and have friends too. By kids learning that differences don’t really make us different, they learn compassion and acceptance. This will make an impact in the entire school community as all are involved in supporting the children and families with special needs. The Adaptive Learning Center partners with 9 preschools around Atlanta reaching over 2000 children and families per year; with a message of inclusion, acceptance, compassion and LOVE for one and other.

Stivers hometown donation helps homeless children  –  Charles S

Stivers hometown donation helps homeless children

Stivers Decatur Subaru is helping children experiencing homelessness receive a good preschool education so they start out on a good educational path. Part of the proceeds from the “Share the Love” campaign went to The Adaptive Learning Center’s (ALC) partnership with Our House. Our House, a Decatur nonprofit, is a preschool that serves children experiencing homelessness with their parents. ALC provides two teachers at Our House to support the children with behavioral and learning challenges. When children are in this difficult situation some of the effects are manifested through bad behavior and lack of attentiveness. ALC’s teachers have helped Our House with special needs children and others exhibiting challenging behaviors so all the children have a good learning environment. ALC has also helped the Special Needs “Diagnosed” children with Individual Education Plans (IEP) so they have a good foundation for starting kindergarten. The support from Stivers has been critical to these kids because their living conditions are so challenging. By supporting Our House, Stivers Subaru is helping bring stability to their education which is vital to their long term success. Thank you Stivers Decatur Subaru for helping ALC help some of our most challenged families in Atlanta.

Stivers Driving Special Needs Kids to School  –  Charles S

Stivers Driving Special Needs Kids to School

Stivers Decatur Subaru has started driving kids with special needs to be included in typical preschools. Stivers Decatur Subaru gave the Adaptive Learning Center (ALC) over $47,000, the largest single donation to an individual charity in the southeast of all Subaru dealerships. This money was used to help pay for special-ed teachers to support special needs kids to be included in a typical preschool classroom. Without this money, special needs children are placed in a self-contained class and shut off from their typically developing peers. Everyone wants to be included and special needs kids are no different. When Special needs kids are included in a typical classroom they get role models to learn from on a daily basis. The typical kids get to learn differences and compassion at an early age. Teachers and parents are able to see how all can be included in an environment of learning. Stivers Decatur Subaru is making a difference in the Atlanta community by supporting kids with special needs to be included at the earliest age. This sets up a lifelong trajectory of inclusion for all involved. Thank You Stivers Decatur Subaru for your support!
